JungleQui Zipline Park: 9 Lines & 2 Rappels

About this experience

JungleQui is a private eco-adventure park in Barrio Barcelona, Río Grande, where PR-990 meets Road 191 on the way up to the national forest. A tour starts with a 10-minute nature walk on easy paths and a safety briefing. Then come nine carbon fiber ziplines and two free-fall rappels, short drops from a platform on a rope. The park's FAQ counts about 40 stairs along the way.

The lines are moderate rather than extreme. A family with kids aged 8 to 12 wrote that they were tall enough for an adult thrill but close enough to the ground for young kids, and one February reviewer found them short for the price. Some lines cross a river. Tours leave at 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m., and the park says the course takes two to two and a half hours once you're geared up, longer than the 90 minutes on the listing.

Two caveats. JungleQui zips rain or shine and does not cancel, stop or delay a tour for rain, so a wet morning is not a refund. And there's no pickup on the Viator ticket: you drive, or ask the park, which offers round-trip transport from San Juan for about $40 per person. One guest reported no phone signal at the park, only Wi-Fi, so arrange your ride back before you go.

  4. 2 to 2.5 hoursNine lines and two rappels

What guests say

★★★★★

Me, my husband, and 4 kids (Ages 8-12) enjoyed ziplining with JungleQui. The staff was friendly and made us feel safe. The ziplines were tall enough for an adult thrill, but close enough to the ground for young kids to enjoy safely.

Beautiful-worth every penny. Lovely views. We did the 9:30 tour in mid March and there was a gentle breeze. We used bug spray but really didn't need to. Lots of shade.

This was our first time zip lining and felt very safe and comfortable. We're in our 60s and wasn't sure about the whole idea but the guys were wonderful guides! Felt safe and had a great time!

Professional and friendly staff. Beautiful area and really neat to zip line over the river. Definitely recommend.

Tips before you book

  • Book the 9:30 a.m. tour. It's the earliest slot, and you still have the afternoon for the forest.
  • Bring cash for tips. The park's FAQ says gratuity is not included, and a May reviewer says to bring cash.
  • Big groups mean waits at the platforms. A December guest in a large group found the waits between stations long.
  • Wear shorts, a T-shirt or other comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes, as the park recommends. Bring water.
  • Taking an Uber? Agree a pickup time with the driver first. Two reviewers say the phone signal and Wi-Fi at the park are poor.
