Rainforest Zipline Park or JungleQui?

Both zipline parks sit off Road 191 in Río Grande, and both are well reviewed. Price, rappels and the ride there are what split them.

Booking choice: The Rainforest Zipline tour, from $112 per person. Check dates Tour details

Rainforest Zipline Park and JungleQui sell nearly the same morning: a briefing, a harness and a run of lines through the foothills below El Yunque. Neither is inside the national forest, and both are reached by car up Road 191.

The differences are what you get for the money, whether you can get a ride there, and who can take part. Yunque Ziplining, in Luquillo, is the third option, and we cover it at the end.

The quick answer

Choose Rainforest Zipline Park ($112) for the lower price, a long line over 2,300 feet and a pickup option from San Juan. Choose JungleQui ($145) for nine lines plus two rappels, the higher weight limit (275 lb) and the most reviews of the three parks. Choose Yunque Ziplining ($149) for a smaller, nature-led tour with a hike and snacks.

How do the parks compare side by side?

Rainforest Zipline Park is cheaper and has a pickup version; JungleQui adds rappels and takes riders up to 275 lb.

Which is cheaper?

Rainforest Zipline Park: from $112 on Viator, or $99 per adult on its own site, against from $145 at JungleQui.

JungleQui's price includes two rappels and park fees. Most guests rate it highly, though one recent review called it overpriced for lines that were not that long. At Rainforest Zipline Park a rappel is only on the separate Adventure Trail, sold on the park's site.

Which has the bigger zipline?

Rainforest Zipline Park publishes the bigger number: line 7 is over 2,300 feet, and the listing calls its last two lines the longest in eastern Puerto Rico.

JungleQui's Viator listing gives no line lengths. Its pitch is variety: nine carbon fiber lines, two rappels, lots of shade, and a line that guests mention crossing a river. One guest with children aged 8 to 12 wrote that the lines were tall enough for adults but close enough to the ground for young kids.

Which park has rappelling?

JungleQui includes two rappels in the ticket; Yunque Ziplining offers an optional one; Rainforest Zipline Park has none on its zipline course.

Guests describe JungleQui's rappel as a jolt at first but easy. If you want both at Rainforest Zipline Park, its combo with the Adventure Trail adds a rappel down a tree, a Tarzan swing and hanging bridges for $160 per adult on the park's own site.

Which is easier without a car?

Rainforest Zipline Park, because a separate listing adds round-trip transport: from $149 with pickup in San Juan, Condado or Carolina.

JungleQui's listing meets you at the park. Guests say there is no phone signal there, but the park has wifi to call an Uber, and one suggests agreeing a pickup time with your driver before you go. The flagship Rainforest Zipline ticket has no transport either, despite "from San Juan" in its listing name.

Which is better for kids and bigger riders?

Both take children from 8; JungleQui takes riders up to 275 lb, Rainforest Zipline Park up to 250 lb.

Rainforest Zipline Park also needs riders to be 4 feet tall and counts 8 to 15 as children; JungleQui counts 8 to 12 as children and needs them with an adult. Full rules in El Yunque zipline with kids.

Where does Yunque Ziplining fit in?

It is the small, nature-led option: five lines and a short guided hike, with chips, homemade cookies and juice. Guests also mention a rope bridge and an optional rappel.

You meet at a basketball court on Road 992 in Luquillo and follow the guide by car two minutes to a private estate; a taxi or Uber has to follow too. It takes riders from 7 to 68, up to 230 lb and a 42-inch waist. Guests praise the guides' nature talk; one thrill seeker found it tamer than hoped.
